Searching for a legitimate work home job online takes work. There are so many websites, job postings, as well as email marketing and spam everywhere, that the whole idea of working from home seems hopeless. Who does one trust? Or most importantly, where can one go for real help, advice, and resources? If you’ve been down this road before, it’s time to guard yourself and begin recognizing the tricks and the cons that gets you one step closer to becoming scammed.

Mysterious Email Job Offers

Once you receive emails about being accepted for a job you never applied for; be cautious. If the contact information is inside the email, check them out. However, if the contact information is overseas, it’s definitely as scam and should be reported as spam in your email.

300 - 500 Per Month Data Entry

Data entry jobs are extremely hard to come by. They do exist but most companies do not advertise their job openings and some may require local residence in order to be considered. If you see this job posting, it’s a scam. Once you contact the person who posted this job, they will email you a generic email asking money for training materials. There really are no training materials. The data entry part comes into play because you have to post the same ad this person did before you to earn money. Remember legit data entry companies will never charge a fee.

 Scam Job Postings

Do not assume that even though you’ve seen a job on Monster or Hotjobs, it is legit. There are scams everywhere and there are many indicators that can let you know when you are being scammed. One is if the job seems too good to be true. It may require little or no experience paying a ridiculous amount of money from home. Another one is if, the company website is sloppy containing grammar mistakes with claims to have been in business over 10 years though the site has only been registered for a few months. There are lots of reasons why you need to be cautious with your personal information regarding a job aside from the regular spam and the selling of your personal information.

Finally, do not be afraid to ask questions to company concerning details of the job or their organization.  Check the BBB, Rip off Report, and Scam Busters to make sure your personal information has not put in the wrong hands. Our economy has made it especially hard to find and keep good jobs but you can still protect your information, keep it safe, and know when your being scammed.
